I’m Plus Size, So What?

I describe myself as a plus size woman but that’s not all I am. Does it matter that I’m a plus size woman? Should it matter? The only person who it should matter to is me! The only reason it should matter to me is, if it’s having a detrimental effect on my health. I do have health issues but those are the by-products of MS not my weight, not that it’s anyone’s business, lol!

Yes, I am plus size, but so what? I would also describe myself as short, fashionable, kind, trustworthy, pretty, strong and totally awesome! I’m a good writer, dependable friend, my sister’s biggest cheerleader, my husband’s best friend and my daughter’s closest confidant! I can make a pretty decent loaf of bread, decorate my home so it’s a cozy and welcoming haven for friends and family and at one time I was an inspiring teacher. I am a loving daughter who wishes she lived closer to her Dad but does the best she can. I’m a good listener to anyone who needs to bounce ideas or lament on the troubles of their life.

Me, Dad and my sister! Great looking bunch aren’t we, lol!

Now that I think about it, being plus size is really a pretty insignificant part of the total, wonderful package that is me!

Short, curvy and in love with anything fashionable (especially with skulls; my inner pirate coming out)! A pretty cute package right?

I am Pretty and Proud. I’m also plus size but so what? If I’m happy with me, why shouldn’t everyone else be happy with me? If they’re not, do I care? The answer at one time would have been yes but now it’s a resounding NO!!! Love who you are, whatever shape or size you may be. It’s only a small part of your package. If someone else takes issue with how you look, show them the door!

At fifty years old I am finally loving who I am, plus size and all!

I loved this post. It’s so cool because you’re not just writing about positive body image, you are living it and it’s contagious. Very cool ❤

I’m loving your positivity! It’s great to have someone celebrate their beautiful curves because curvy girls rule! 🙂 And I must agree with you – great writer, pretty (that’s an awesome profile pic!) and positive! Cheers!

Oh, my word! We must be kindred spirits. I am short, curvy, plus sized and proud for the same reasons as yours. I have been living with MS since 2003 and I am also on a roller coaster ride of trying to get my Hashimoto’s thyroid disease within range. Medications increased, medications decreased. Weight up, weight down.

I cannot adequately express what it means to read your post today. The fatigue has kept me couch bound today so that I can go to work tomorrow. It’s no biggie, really, because this way I can come across wonderful blogs like yours.

So happy our paths have crossed. You are truly a beautiful person and a wonderful inspiration! 🙂

Ok, you made me cry, lol! What beautiful kind words! I’m so sorry you’re dealing with such illnesses! MS is hard because our issues aren’t always visible. I suffer from extreme fatigue too. I do the best I can to get things done but I’ve learned to give myself a break when I need it. I’m on disability so I started writing so I would have a purpose. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed writing my blog and am so glad people like yourself find it helpful! Thank you for reading and sharing your story! We are kindred spirits indeed! Take care! Xo
