Rely On Yourself

We always seem to look for reassurance from others that we are talented or smart or beautiful. We hang on waiting for compliments to help us feel good about ourselves, to give us confidence. If someone says, “Good job!”, we’re happy. If someone says something negative, we believe them without question and berate ourselves. Why is it someone’s else’s job to make us feel happy, fulfilled or confident?

The truth is that it’s not someone else’s job. The truth is it’s no one’s job but our own. It’s up to you to believe in yourself. It’s up to you to love yourself. It’s up to you to find the strength to do the things that need to get done. It’s up to you to live the life you deserve. It’s up to you to find your happiness. It’s up to you to figure out how to be confident and to use your talents productively. Your life is yours to live as you please and you don’t need anyone’s validation or approval to live it.

You are smart, talented and beautiful but you don’t need me to tell you what you should already know. Be Pretty, Plus and Proud and rely on yourself to know how amazing you are. If anyone says differently then let them go. You don’t need those negatives vibes whispering in your ears.

Yes, I agree. It’s always good to have people who you trust that you can rely on. But is also no one else’s responsibility to make sure you are happy, that’s up to you. And sure others can help, but everyone has to take care of themselves. It’s up to you too decide whether or not you are who you want to be.

    Anyway, great post!
