Monday, the most dreaded day of the week! Who wants to end the laid back schedule, the sleep in mornings and the stay up late nights? Who wants the mad rush mornings of deciding what to wear, what to pack in lunch bags, what to have for supper and the driving of someone somewhere? Monday often brings the feeling of a too tightly wind up top twirling and twirling out of control with no idea of where you’re going or of how to stop.
To get over the Monday blues I sometimes try to look at it as an opportunity for a fresh start. It’s the beginning of a new week where you get to try to put a little more vegetables on your plate. try to include that walk around the block you keep putting off, try to phone your Mom a little more, try to read a chapter from the book that’s been beside your bed for the last few months, try to remember to take your vitamin in the morning, try to play with your kids a little more and try to give your significant other a little more love and a little less attitude.
As daunting as Monday may seem, I have faith in you; you can do this! You can have a great day, a great seven days! Don’t forget to smile. Find something to laugh at every day. Don’t take things so seriously.
