There is beauty in everyone if only we take the time to look for it; if only we opened our eyes to see it.
Many times people look past anyone who looks different; maybe they have “birth defects”, skin conditions or physical disabilities. It’s almost as if they are afraid of catching something or they feel awkward not knowing what to say.
I personally feel there is no such thing as a “birth defect”. No one born is defected or a mistake; they are simply unique. A person who uses a cane or wheelchair is not disabled; their abilities are just different. Anyone who has spotty skin, milk-white skin, dark skin is not going to speak to you any different or understand you any less than any one else.
There is beauty in the old; they are wise and full of stories that show us where we came from and how we came to be in the place we are now. There is beauty in the newborn; their innocence and trust teaches us how to care and love. There is beauty in the person in a wheelchair; their struggles teach us patience and compassion. There is beauty in the child with Down Syndrome; they teach us kindness and pureness of heart.
There is beauty everywhere and in everyone if only we could open our minds and hearts to find it. Beauty is not found in everyone looking or acting the same. Beauty is unique and individual. It is shown through our actions towards others and in how we feel about ourselves. Confidence and a strong sense of who we are and what we contribute to the world makes a person beautiful.
Be Pretty, Plus and Proud and know that you are part of the beauty that is everywhere!
